Can anyone convert 'RoboChild V4' for me so it works for new msn, i have tried but it doesnt work Please Help!!!!!

So you want your template converted, just 'cos you're too lazy to read the docs, and look at other MSN2 bots to see how they do it. Hm. Good luck.

darkmonkey i wanted help, the docs aint even documentations, they just say what they are... not what to change |

Since the current MSN pm doesn't have depreciated methods for the OLD MSN....your best bet is to implement your own code to use it instead of trying to change things. The current MSN module is well documented, so I don't know why you think the "docs aint even documentations". And if you really really wanted to figure out what to change, I'm sure you could easily find what's different. Put some actual work into it and perhaps you'll have some success.

He means that you need to read the documentation on the changes in the new MSN, then make those changes. For instance, in the old MSN, I believe you used send to send a message. In the new one, you use sendMessage. So you would make those changes. Read the docs, read the RoboChild code and try to figure out what needs to change and what doesn't.
Maybe you should ask the original programmer of RoboChild to update it to use the new MSN. Since he wrote it, he should know exactly what needs to change. |

I don't know if you're uninformed or trying to be funny, but pX = JoeX = creator of Robochild. So, JoeX (pX) is really asking someone to de-newb his bot  .

I was aware that he is the creator of the bot. I was trying to make a point that the developer should be able to easily change his own bot.  |

how am i being an asshole i tried converting and flaming so much, been member for couple weeks now and ive done like 23 posts, ye, and I came for someone to help me convert, its not a big code, I just dont know what to do |

One of the earlier versions of MSN 2.0 for sure have a list of the methods that are changed.
For example sendmsg turns to sendMessage, set_status becomes setStatus, set_name becomes setName, etc.
And if you actually did program your bot to begin with, you'd be able to find where your bot calls on these methods and just update them.
Unless your bot wasn't actually your own code, which raises another issue altogether.
