Hi everyone, just wondering who is still around on here? Noir is I hope, because I would like to talk to him about something.

I just started making a bot again not using the msn.pm as it was out of date by now. Hopefully I can make some headway on getting something working on p15 and some of the new features implemented. Then I will make a new module from scratch that should hopefully be more up to date and feature rich.

I know some people were working on various branches of the msn.pm and got a lot of features in there. It would save me a lot of time if anyone knows where I can get my hands on them, as I do remember attempting winks and stuff previously and having no joy (the msnobjects really annoy me), and im probably going to have less of a chance for a while now, as I havent programmed in perl for about a year.

Anyways, help appreciated and hope everyone is well.

Hey
I still come round every now and then although development on my msn bot has slowed down considerably. I have been thinking about stopping development as when msn next update their servers I will be pretty stuck as I use the MSN.pm and would have no idea to repair it.

I have an MSN.pm with working PSM but i could not get DPs to work with it. If you want a copy let me know.

JT

Sounds cool. Im part way through the P13 protocol which is quite similar to P15 (the newest), so you can have my code once its stable if you want, might help you out a bit. Uses AuthPP3 so should keep your bot going once they get rid of the PP1.4 login.

Actually, I saw your blog post yesterday about your bot and I was intrigued by it. Is it another chat bot, or something more specific (like AWordExperiment was)? Is it still running? Whats the address for it?

Could you PM me the version you have with PSM?

I think the DP might be a little easier with the new protocols as you can set msn to use the same one everywhere, which presumably means you only ever have to set it once and then enable this feature. I'll look into it but for now just getting my bot to sign in on P13 is the main priority.

Good to see someone else still hanging in there with the perl bots Smile

It has been running off and on but I am thinking I may put more effort into it as it is one of the few bots around that does not use the SDK. Its basicaly another chat bot not sure if I am going to add AI or not yet (it just seems to take so long for little use by the users)

If you could give me your code when your done I am sure it would help loads.

I stop by the forums about once or twice a month, usually to find no posts at all. MSN's already up to P15? Wow, how time flies. What version did our latest MSN.pm use? seems like it was MSNP9 or something.

The last official msn.pm used P9 I think. Then there was the "unofficial" one with file transfers and PSM which used P11. I would guess theyre actually up to P16 by now on version 9 beta, but I dont have it so I cant say for sure. Cant wait for that one though, bot can make the controller vibrate if theyre signed in on their Xbox 360.

I sent a message to Noir asking if he would consider redoing the forum and making it a resource for people using the ConversAgent and other similar online service based bots, as well as people using the messenger SDK, and old schoolers doing it the proper way Wink I think it could breathe some life back into the site. Unfortunately I didnt get a reply so I dont think he is still around Sad

I try to check back once a month or so, but there's never anything of use on here so it's usually a 1 minute visit and I'm back on my way.
I agree on how the times gone so fast... I remember the big upgrade to MSNP8, and WLM9.0 is using MSNP16 now Laughing
It would be great if these forums could be brought back to life, they used to be great Sad But it seems like the bot-craze was short lived, and there's a very small community of people who still mess around with the MSNP anymore Sad
