The Yahoo Responder Bot has been out for about three years, but I thought I'd plug it here. The bot can be found at Yahoo Responder Bot.
Briefly, this bot has many features, some of the more interesting are:
Search/Response pairs specified using regular expressions;
Search/Response pairs have an associated probability;
Multi-post responses;
Ability to respond to users entering the room;
Response when bot enters a room;
Ability to use text from the post in the response;
Respond to private messages;
Send responses to the chat room, or through private message;
Advanced response features: typos, replacement groups, variables;
Built in text editor for response file;
Spam controls to put a leash on chatty bots;
Mini client interface to monitor your bot's interaction with the chat room, or to post messages on behalf of your bot;
Room user list with ignore capability;
Ability to set the font and color of your bot's response posts;
Extended font color effects: fade and alternate;
Connection wizard to simplify connecting to the Yahoo! servers;
Bot remembers settings on next run, so that you can press a single button to restart;
Here are some screen shots of the bot:

Yahoo Responder Bot was by far the best Yahoo! Bot. The inovations in it were certainly no where to be seen and I finally had something really at my hands after trying numerous others.
I liked the ease of use YRB provided and the speed with which we could write new responses. We (I and a couple of my friends) had loads of fun with it. But, the previous versions were a bit buggy. It was then I decided that I would create a bot of my own. With no particular route planned I set off for the journey some 18 months back and finally I have come with my best creation - Pika Bot.
The core of Pika Bot is different from YRB. While, YRB provides the easiest way to write responses, Pika Bot provides the flexibility to control the various aspects of the YMSG session. One major strength of YRB is the regular expressions which Pika Bot more or less lacks.
Pika Bot uses a CEVT (Conditions, Effects, Variables & Triggers) mechanism. For a detailed list of the features or to grab a copy, check out my Home Page: http://ntek.astahost.com
