or if youre old fashioned just tape it and fast forward...
This topic got me thinking... theres this site called experimental gameplay (www.experimentalgameplay.com) and the guys who run it are set a theme each week, and make a game on that theme. It would be cool if bot-depot did something similar, each week make a topic with a theme in and people could make commands or brains or whatever they like based on that theme and post them as replies.
(and the first theme could be lost ) (joke)
Well I think it would be cool even if nobody else does |

When you rent it, you know you can only rent 1 at a time right? Its pretty much cheaper to buy the dvd set then to rent all the dvd's..I *think* |

| Yup. You only get 1 disc. It sucks. Torrent it, that's the way to go! |

I totally agree. The best way to support a thing is to support a thing. If you like an artist, a game, or a movie, then buy or rent their product. Piracy is bad, and I say that from knowing game developers who've spent many long hours away from their families working on awesome PC games. The money to pay their salaries comes from revenue, and piracy affects revenue, plain and simple.

/me kicks the soap box out from under noir118 and laughs maniacly!!!, then rights the box and begins his own rant
I'd feel worse about piracy if it was cheaper to get movies. Now I'm totaly on board with paying per episode if they can supply with my own copy and forget there stupid copy protection crap. When will they learn that the people paying for the copy arn't the ones pirating it??? And the ones who by it in order to pirate it arn't even slowed down by there protection scheme. The only thing they are doing is making it harder for consumers to enjoy a product that they've rightly fully purchased usage rights to. So LET US USE IT ALREADY!!!
PS I'm all about buying games and moves (own over 150 dvds and probably 75 games all purchased legaly). I'm just disgruntled that their "security" measures are aimed more at hindering legal uses and less at stopping abuse.
/me falls off his soap box as a giant gust of wind hits him _________________ Eric256

The RIAA and the MPAA are basically clueless and are living in the past. Copy protection is just a way for product manufacturers to placate the RIAA and MPAA.
They simply just don't get it. Things have changed. Consumers want different things. In the area of music, they want 1 or 2 songs from an album, not the other 13 crappy ones. They want to sample an artists first. When a consumer gets to hear just how great a particular artist is, they *will* buy the music. Free downloads help promote music and music purchasing. Trading of music helps promote music and music purchasing.
All of the RIAA's copy protection and lawsuits are just hurting themselves and driving consumers off.
I have dozens of saved urls about how idiotic the whole old system is. |
