HI All- I really appreciate the expertise here. I have a bot that is sending out messages to users based on stock market activity. The users are registered and desire this info, we are not spim, but most flow is one sided (they seldom type commands to the bot). In order to minimize rate-alerts I actually run one bot screen name per user. Works great for most of the users, but a few get into a non-ack state where my bot keeps sending but they don't receive. I sense this non-ack and now sign the bot on and off, but it's totally bizarre because I can't figure out what's triggering it. Other users receiving just as many mssgs do fine all day. Any ideas? using net::oscar.
Yes, the reciever has the bot on his buddy list. Weirdest part is that some people are able to receive exact same messsage flow without ever non-acking. Someone suggested that 'new' screen-names are on some sort of anti-spim probation for a period of time, where they have different throttling--- anyone ever hear of such a thing-- can't say my results confirm it. Thanks.
