I'm sorry if this has already been asked but I have browsed for a while and have not been able to find it. Does anyone have a full list of the AIM servers that they could post? Trying to have my bot log off when it gets rated and switch servers.

Thanks

A list of AIM servers isn't very easy to find.

You could just do what all other AIM bot runners do and add delays in your bot to make up for the rate limit.

Usually a message queue might work. You could have the bot wait 3 seconds before sending a message, or (what I do) make it send the message first and then wait 3 seconds, so when there's only one person chatting it will reply instantly, but it would reply slower when it has many people talking to it.

That's the best way to go. You can run a really good bot on that "send first, wait later" thing. I haven't run into any rate alert errors in over a year.

Your idea of "always send instantly, then switch servers when I get a rate alert error" is flawed. Usually your rate alert is given because you've already passed it. So your last message you tried to send was NOT sent. Now, would you rather just switch servers a lot and lose every 5th message sent, or have every message sent and avoid rate limits altogether?
