Does anyone know the exact command or "screen name" to use when trying to send text through a bot to a cell phone? Is it possible?

It's possible, but you'll have to sniff the connection because I don't think Net::Oscar has it built in.

If the person on the cell phone is using AIM, then it should be able to send a message just as it would to any other AIM user. _________________ Check out Botworld! A dev resource for things bot.

I believe AIM does the mapping to get the mssg to the cellphone- they have a deal w/ Verizon that makes it two way and the message gets routed to other carriers as recieve only. Just use 1 followed by the 10digit phone number- works fine for me. (don't forget the plus character).

When I send a messsage in AIM to +1XXX-XXX-XXXX, where the x's are the area code and phone number, it sends a text message to the phone that looks something like this
My Screen Name Here using AIM

Heh I didn't even know AIM did that. My phone can sign onto aim though, and I experimented with sending text in aim from my cellphone to a bot on linux using aim. It works ok but you have to tell the bot to respond very slow ly, otherwise the messages try to come into the phone to fast and just get lost without any errors being reported. Although honestly I never did do that much testing with it.
