Just something I noticed, GMail's gigabyte of space and then the two gigabytes isn't as unique anymore.
First you had only Hotmail and Yahoo competing with one another, seeing who would add the next megabyte, Hotmail was at 2 MB and Yahoo was at 4 MB, and then GMail comes along with their gigabytes of space and now they're competing for who's gonna add the next gigabyte.
^^ Just something I noticed. The only thing that sets GMail apart now though is that they use their Google search engine to search e-mails (and the convo things and stuff). _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/

Does it actually matter? I never needed 2mb of space on hotmail (not just because I have no friends), and I seriously doubt I'll need 1gb, yet alone 2gb of space with gmail, even with this fancy 'archiving' lark I'm not going throught the trouble of making a new account with someone else, google is getting my support because their google, I saw THEM first, and I use them a lot, I'm not going to use Yahoo, because, frankly, they do NOTHING of any use for me... Why is Yahoo so popular nowadays (apart from broadband, wich is a fairly new thing to yahoo right?)?
I dont think there are many people who need the 2gb, most of the people who do are probably the people who have their own server, or a paid subscription, or a buisness account with their job. There may be need for 3gb of space for an inbox in the future, but at the moment it's not worth it. Google have better places to be spending their money than gmail wich doesent need much more investing into it.

Have any of you ever heared of the Gmail Drive??
Its a Shell Extension that allows you to use Jamil's 2.5Gigabyte memory as a portable hard drive on you comp. What this shell does is add an extra drive on your computer to store files on. And stores that stuff on you gmail account!! How cool is this guy's, that like 2.5gigabytes of free storage.
The only downside is that you need a gmail account. Lucky for me I have 200gmail invites to give away!!
FIRST 25 PEOPLE TO EMAIL ME AT:
dylan.mcatee@gmail.com or demon_slayer_17@hotmail.com
WILL RECEIVE FREE GMAIL ACCOUNTS!!
p.s. google <<Gmail Drive>> if you want to download it
I have the GMail drive as well as a couple hundred invites as well. The idea for the drive is really simple. When you open the drive, you have to log in to your gmail account. When you put a file on the drive, an email (with a special prefix on the subject) is sent to your account. This email has the file attached to it. The next time you open your drive, it searches the emails for the message with the special subject prefix, and displays it in windows explorer format.
