I've recently (today, when I wasn't revising) been making a Web Bot called Phaidon, which is an open source script (Perl ^_^) which allows you to carry out commands etc, all from the web interface.
This is one of a kind, so I would really like loads of feedback, please.
QUOTE(Phaidon's Readme)
Phaidon is a program built with the sole pupose of becoming a template for others to use and expand on. Due to the way it's built, Phaidon can be easily customised, with (for instance) the login process abolished, commands made to use subs or IF statements, etc. The template can be used as one of three things: One, a fully operational bot which processes commands, and can output anything thrown at it. Two, as an interface to make another bot, with Phaidon.pl being used soley as an example, and using the Phaidon module to save, relate and print data. Thirdly, as a learning text, so that you can make your own module, or to advance your knowledge of Perl. Any one of these uses is just as viable, and all as useful as each other.
If you wish to see it in action (curently devoid of any useful commands/anything useful to do), then please go to:
To download it, please see the attached file (Mirror: California)
Thanks,

i thought this was a msn bot controlable via web. i was wrong
That's what I thought too. But it inspired me to make make my bot accessible on the web. Don't know when I'll get around to it because I've already got a list of projects, but if/when I do maybe I'll post the code so others can use it...
If you want to control your bot from the web, then just use White Warrior, and connect to your IP. This is a "web bot" however. The next version (released in 2 weeks) will have complete compatibility with White Warrior commands, as well as current ones. _________________ ~ Josh

This topic has got nothing to do with White Warrior, but, I'll answer you anway.
The Win32 GUI for White Warrior indicates that it's for Win32, not *nix. I know there are many problems, such as the command character, the font stuff, etc, but when I coded it that's all I could do. However, during the summer when I make a new MSN Bot, it will own your face, so please ssh. Oh, and if you can do better, which you are inferring you can, please show. I'd love to learn. _________________ ~ Josh

It is not his fault if he built it for Windows and you attempted to try it on Linux. Besides, didn't you know Linux is case sensitive? lol There is nothing wrong with WW, so quit your bashing. _________________ Check out Botworld! A dev resource for things bot.

a) ill bash what i like B) what use is a bot if its got 2 run of ur comp.... c) use a server for what it is.......... d) screw u
A. Your bashing just causes wars here, keep opinions to yourself, or if you need to burn up the energy go make an entire website devoted to bashing somebody's bot.
B. Most web providers don't like people running bots off their Linux web servers because they devour CPU and lag down all the other hosted websites.
There's no problem running a bot from your own computer. Just get cable or DSL and you're always connected, boom you can run a 24/7 bot without web hosts b*tching about the CPU hoggage of your account.
C. They are using a server for what it is: is this bot not using HTTP? The difference between a bot coded into an HTTP server and a bot written in JavaScript or CGI is that the bot is coded into the HTTP server. Stop whining. There is no misuse of the protocol here.
When i try to install Phaidon to my web host . I have this error :
