<_<

1) How can it be a copy? Your's you could sent variables to and make it countdown to a certain time, Mine doesnt do that.

2) I couldnt have copied the code, Php is SERVERSIDE only.

A fun Perl module for countdowns is Date::Calc.

Code:
use Date::Calc qw(Delta_YMDHMS);<br /><br /># Current time.<br />my ($secs,$min,$hour,$mday,$mon,$year,$wday,$yday,$isdst) = localtime();<br /><br /># Fix the current date.<br />$year += 1900; # normal year (i.e. "2005", not "105")<br />$mon++; # 1 to 12, not 0 to 11<br /><br /># Count down to Christmas 2010.<br />my ($dYear,$dMon,$dDay,$dHour,$dMin,$dSecs) =<br />   Delta_YMDHMS (<br />         $year,$mon,$mday, $hour,$min,$secs, # current time<br />         2010,12,25, 0,0,0); # 12-25-2010 at midnight<br />);<br />if ($dMon < 0) {<br />   $dYear++;<br />   $dMon = abs($dMon);<br />}<br /><br />print "There are $dYear years, $dMon months, $dDay days, $dHour hours, $dMin minutes, and $dSecs seconds until Christmas in 2010!";

Your entirely right, but you can hardcode them in, im sure with the edit of a few lines you could make it countdown to any other date. Smile

Btw, Perl and CGI is good too, then you can use perl which you already know.

Though i gotta admit for webby stuff PHP is certainly easier.

Wow, he copied a very common and overly done idea. If you want to see people who've done countdown scripts, try subprofile.com and buddyprofile.com and aimprofile.com and other AIM subprofile services, because they ALL do countdown scripts.

And check some script download sites:
Look here: http://www.hotscripts.com/CGI_and_Perl/Scr...owns/index.html Surprised Surprised Surprised OMG OMG, COUNTDOWN SCRIPTS! Surprised Surprised Surprised

You are DEFINITELY not the first one to have come up with that idea, and so you can't complain people "copied your code or stole your ideas" when you hear about somebody else's countdown script. You can go ahead and try suing everyone and trying to make huge plagiarism cases over it, but you'll only lose because it's already been done--MANY MANY times--before you even knew Perl or PHP existed.
