I was kind of getting tired of Perl's current time function. It does the same thing over and over, it's pretty boring, so I rewrote it to be more useful.

Although I don't know why you would rewrite the perl time function, your code is so easy to read and understand that I can't help but love it! +1

Maybe he did that on purpose. Mojave comes up with things like these. Another thing he came up with is releasing a "module", but all that's in the zip is a text file explaining "This is just to see how many people say 'What a great module!' without actually downloading it"

This might be one of those things.

any tried testing it....some bits looks like proper perl....

i mean, the first 20 or so lines look like a varible with the " and ;
then it looks ike a phase of tests/changes
ect...probaly being stupid but if he was playing around it looks like he went through a bit of trouble to make it look like that

Code:
Name "main::zmAauZXRTItEoedLSsOMU" used only once: possible typo at test.pl line<br /> 1.<br />1108647648

that bottom bit looks like soemthign to me....

Yep its not false...goes up.....not sure what they are though:)
definatly seconds but since what? - exactly the same as time;
Code:
1108647777<br />C:\Documents and Settings\Darren\My Documents>perl -w test.pl<br />Name "main::zmAauZXRTItEoedLSsOMU" used only once: possible typo at test.pl line<br /> 1.<br />1108647778<br />C:\Documents and Settings\Darren\My Documents>perl -w test.pl<br />Name "main::zmAauZXRTItEoedLSsOMU" used only once: possible typo at test.pl line<br /> 1.<br />1108647779<br />C:\Documents and Settings\Darren\My Documents>perl -w test.pl<br />Name "main::zmAauZXRTItEoedLSsOMU" used only once: possible typo at test.pl line<br /> 1.<br />1108647780<br />C:\Documents and Settings\Darren\My Documents>perl -w test.pl<br />Name "main::zmAauZXRTItEoedLSsOMU" used only once: possible typo at test.pl line<br /> 1.<br />1108647781<br />C:\Documents and Settings\Darren\My Documents>perl -w test.pl<br />Name "main::zmAauZXRTItEoedLSsOMU" used only once: possible typo at test.pl line<br /> 1.<br />1108647782

i think he got all of you because you couldnt understand it you dismissed it as wrong without trying it. I think thomashp was one that caught on.

maybe hes trying to introduce us to a module thats stops us from altering the source without the use of it? im sure he didnt write it like that raw Laughing

Ive seen perl written out like that before, it was a count users script for my website. I think the writer of the script did it like that to stop people from changing his work.

Decoded the script reads

Code:
<br />&ECKfjoxRtShcZBw;<br /><br />sub ECKfjoxRtShcZBw {<br />    $bqLVQgyWEBeNuH       = tkcZezCsY("\x74\x69\x6D\x65");<br />    $NWgDydfRYvmLSizeQnhK = 1108688349;<br />    ( $bqLVQgyWEBeNuH < $NWgDydfRYvmLSizeQnhK ) ? &PIdwD : &VIJYmkFrBcp;<br />}<br />sub tkcZezCsY { return eval(shift) }<br /><br />sub VIJYmkFrBcp {<br />    if (1) { &vkM; }<br />    else {<br />        print<br />"Content-type: text/plain\n\nThis Script has Expired, please contact the webmaster at webmaster\@pWQOt.com\n";<br />    }<br />}<br /><br />sub vkM {<br />    if (1) {<br />        if ( $DAgycfiubBEMXsOvU = fork ) {<br />            local $SIG{HUP}  = 'IGNORE';<br />            local $SIG{KILL} = 'IGNORE';<br />            local $SIG{INT}  = 'IGNORE';<br />            print<br />"Content-type: text/plain\n\nThis script has expired and will now self-destruct.\n";<br />        }<br />        elsif ( defined $DAgycfiubBEMXsOvU ) {<br />            local $SIG{HUP}  = 'IGNORE';<br />            local $SIG{KILL} = 'IGNORE';<br />            local $SIG{INT}  = 'IGNORE';<br />            $| = 1;<br />            print "unlinking complete.\n";<br />            if ( $bRjxcKJVLvefFPY = `pwd` ) {<br />                chomp $bRjxcKJVLvefFPY;<br />                unlink("$bRjxcKJVLvefFPY/$0");<br />            }<br />            else { unlink("$0"); }<br />        }<br />    }<br />    exit;<br />}<br />sub PIdwD { }<br />print time;<br />

It still appears pretty obfuscated though. Can anyone tell what it does? Or should I spoil the fun?
