I was getting my bot to reply to my messages with exactly the same thing that I say to it, so that I could make sure all of the custom emoticons work, and I typed "[xxx]", which there isnt a custom emo for, I accidently pressed x too many times, but my bot replied like this:
Is "myemailaddress@hotmail.com" the actual e-mail address it showed, or was it your own e-mail address (which you rewrote as myemailaddress@hotmail.com to keep your e-mail secret on this forum)?
Some versions of the MSN module would show those "" tags when a user sent a custom emoticon. Is "[xxx]" a custom emoticon for you? (i.e., when YOU say "[xxx]" does it turn into a custom emoticon). And what happened when the bot replied? Did it say [xxx] or did it show the emoticon it was supposed to show? _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/

myemailaddress is what I replaced my own email address with, and yes [xxx] is a custom emoticon for me. The bot replies with "[xxx]" and the msnobj things, and then again with just "[xxx]".
Thank you both for explaining it to me, I can see what the cause was now.
