Hmmm, Cer. Not sure that's the problem. The thing just seems inactive. Any other thoughts?
Try editing subroutines/active.pl, and somewhere in that sub's code put a print "Looped!\n"; or something. So your DOS window should say "Looped!" every time it loops, if it stops looping then something is really freezing your bot. _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/
Thanks for the tip. It's looping so that's ok. Any ideas what might be blocking communication (beyond the obvious firewall, etc.). By the way, I’m running it under BSD unix. Is there any chance that you can OS specific code?
I got the leviathan bot running and it connects but when it connects it dissapears directly from the contact list, I think the problem is with the msn.pm
could you tell with version is the most compatible?
thx
[edit] I tried al sorts of msn.pm's some work and stay online and i can see he is responding to messages but you can't see them in your msn window (I can see in dos) strange things [/edit]
Can you tell us what version of MSN.pm you are using? If you are using a copy of MSN 2.0, then your bot should print out the version number at or near the top of the output. You can also just look in the MSN.pm file and look for a liked with the version near the top of the code.
Does the entire DOS window disappear? If so, try running it from the batch file.
If you are running it from the batch file, and the bot seems to "restart" (i.e. shows the logo again and starts reloading files), then there was an error. The error would be the last thing it shows on the DOS window before it restarts. _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/
I got it fixed after I put the folder in lib and in the root of the bot. Don't ask me why. Now it works on windows but does anyone has a decent manual to get this thing working on debian or any linux?
I tried 6 different bot's with 6 bad results, compile errors from loops to perl runtime errors...
As you have said, many, many times, templates designed for one MSN.pm won't work with another. I know there are not many fixes that involve change of implemented code, but still. _________________ ~ Josh

Yeah, you're right, it was a mistake to say that. It's been 2 or 3 months now and I would hope that template writers have updated their code, but that's probably just a dream.
Template writers should alert users which version of the MSN 2.0 module they support. And questions about this issue should go directly to the template writer.
I think that template writers tend to include the MSN.pm that they made it compatible with, and expect people to use only that one. _________________ ~ Josh

My Leviathan used MSN.pm 2.0 revision 81, when I zipped it (my bots currently still use that version).
