You can IM your bot with the !socks command, it will show the list of conversations (numbers on the left, members on the right). Then use !join and use one of the numbers for the convo you want to join (i.e. "!join 12"). _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/

err hi... this is a really great bot..hehe i'm totally new to this so...
could anyone tell me what the aiml/alice stuff is doing in the replies folder? i've managed to set it all up properly (well i managed to get my friends talking to te cody sample brain ) so i was wondering id it was possible to use the alicebot replies with juggernaut
anyone?
Nope. The AIML replies were there because one time I attempted getting AIML to work with the bot, but that failed, and I just never removed the AIML files. _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/
Actually, it is. All you have to do is parse a Pandora Bot or something, or, even better, code Alice replies into it yourself. Everything is possible, just you need time, effort, and willingness.
NaiBot, PM me if you wish to have code to get ALICE replies off the web - it takes about 2 seconds for each reply, so there may be some lag, though that is better than nothing . _________________ ~ Josh

I was thinking that XML::Simple could be used to make a simple AIML interface. Most of the actual AIML:: modules expect that your bot is all 100% ALICE, with the config files and everything along with it, which is mostly why it's so hard to include AIML:: modules into non-Alicebots. _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/

thanks but that's not eactly what i was looking for... i only use the bot to keep my friends fooled while i'm away (heheh!) + it would just take up more bandwith than needed (it's expensive around here)
wouldn't it be possible to take something like programV (which is in perl i think) and mod it to support MSN and AIM and stuff?
I think that Program V, by default, is set up for AIM, IRC, and ICQ (or at least that's what all the other Alice bots do). However, Program V is a real pain to get working properly. If you can get Program V to work, then you can probably modify it to go on MSN too (I'd suggest getting it to work first before modifying it because you wouldn't want to do lots of work and then find out it doesn't work). _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/

thanks for the advice bro... thing is i really did'nt know squat about perl till about a week ago! but i think i'm getting the hang of it... and yeah progV is a pain... i'm trying to get it to work but no luck yet... hehe... only a matter of time eh? cheers
Fixed it. i realised i had both activepearl 5.6 and 5.8. so i unistalled both and reinstalled 5.8 and it worked!
but still one error

whats up there?
When I zipped Juggernaut, I had to put placeholder files in the empty folders (or else WinZip wouldn't pay attention to the existence of the folder when you extract the bot, and some folders have to be there or the bot would crash). So go through and delete the placeholder files (there's one in data/blocks, as your error showed). _________________ Current Site (2008) http://www.cuvou.com/
