I'm making this poll because every now and then some idiot IMs me and says they're really a bot, and its so obvious but they just stick to their story of being a bot.
Its obvious because: 1. They can think. 2. Their response rate fluctuates, they type 30 wpm for most messages but take < 2 seconds for copy-and-paste things like "(service too busy)" 3. They have buddy icons. Last I checked you have to sleep with AOL to get buddy icons on your bot. 4. Their software queries Direct Connect and Talk requests. If you try that on a bot you'll get a "Their software doesn't support this" error. 5. They send auto-response away messages. Usually botmasters avoid this. 6. They continue to IM you after you warn them once. What kind of f'ed up bot does that? 7. You can talk to them on two names and watch them be in one place at a time. A real bot could respond simultaneously
The list goes on and on. One dumbass (who was claiming to be their bot [themself]'s botmaster) said "My bot was programmed in HTML". Besides the fact that she didn't know what HTML was, she's obviously a noob who doesn't know how to get a real bot.
